ALAM leader killed in robbery by minors

We, leaders of Alab ng Mamamahayag (ALAM), offer to our leader Ed Perez the Petition for Registration of our partylist, which includes thousands of newsmen all over the country..
On the day ALAM filed its Petition for Registration with the Comelec on March 30, 2012, its leader in Antipolo City had just been killed.

Ed Perez was taking coffee by a road side when he was robbed of his personal belongings by about three minors aged 16 to 17.

"To you, Ed, we offer this determined journey for stronger press freedom," ALAM chairman Jerry S. Yap said in tears.

"Ed, we will work hard so that the blood you spilled for ALAM will never go in vain," ALAM president Berteni "Toto" Cataluña Causing vowed.

Ed tried to fight off.  He chased the minors.

Unknown to Ed, an 18-year-old companion of these teeners, obviously the leader of the band was there to fend off in case the victim would resist.

As Ed was chasing, this 18-year-old met him with a stab. He fell dead.

See the photo showing us during the filing of the petition in our bid for mediamen to have at least one congressman to fight for all journalists and seek justice for those slain in the line of duty to the people.

Mediamen are natural servants of the people who are not given salaries by public funds.

PLEASE SUPPORT ALAB NG MAMAMAHAYAG  (ALAM) FOR ALL FILIPINOS TO HAVE BIG BOOST IN NATION BUILDING.

"WALANG DEMOKRASYA KUNG WALANG MEDYA."
