PKF elects new officers
with hope for POC acceptance

The Philippine Karatedo Federation (PKF) has elected a new set of officers with high hopes these new faces, including the new president, are acceptable to Philippine Olympic Committee (POC).

Jose D. Manansala, Jr. was elected president while Otto Antao was chosen as the new deputy president.

Held at the Pages Hall, Teachers’ Camp, Baguio City last May 23, the event also resulted in the election of Rey Mendoza as the vice president for Mindanao, Erlando Metante as the vice president for Visayas, Ruperto Torres as the vice-president for Southern Luzon, Joel Madrona as the vice-president for Northern Luzon, and Edward Ponce, Jr. as the vice-president for NCR.

The newly-elected officers will hold a term of four (4) years or until 2016 as mandated by PKF Charter and By-Laws.

PKF was recognized by POC since 1987 and the Philippine Sports Commission since 1990 but its former representative to the POC council, Mr. Go Teng Kok, was thrown out owing to the dispute with POC president Peping Cojuangco.

As a result of the issue, the POC recognized as PKF’s representative the person elected in a fake elections manipulated by Enrico Vasquez, Raymond lee Reyes and their allies.

Vasquez’s group was able to illegally get the POC approval for them to run the operations of the PKF.

However, the election of Vasquez and his allies were declared NULL and VOID by Judge Rodolfo R. Bonifacio, of RTC Pasig, Branch 159.

Vasquez and Lee Reyes were also cited for contempt for misrepresenting PKF in decision rendered last November 24.

Manansala said the new officers will take over the court cases started by Mr. Go Teng Kok and pursue the full implementation of the court orders if Vasquez, Reyes and their allies will not cease with their illegal activities and misrepresentations as PKF’s officials.
